Sedum makinoi 'Tornado' belongs to the Crassulaceae family and is native to Asia.
It is a succulent plant with a creeping growth habit. It produces fleshy stems on which small, round, glossy leaves of a dark, intense green develop. The leaves are arranged in a rosette, with a tendency to swirl (hence the name Tornado).
What also makes Sedum Tornado unique is its singular coloration, with color variations from green to burgundy/purple, and with lower temperatures, it takes on pinkish hues. In summer, it produces small yellow flowers.
