Aeonium Atropurpureum belongs to the Crassulaceae family and is native to the Canary Islands.
It is an extremely fascinating succulent due to the strong chromatic contrast of its leaves. It has compact rosettes, formed by fleshy and thick leaves, ebony black with purplish hues, more or less present depending on the light exposure.
As it matures, it tends to shed its stem, leaving only the apical rosettes.
It produces small, yellow flowers.
It prefers a light and well-draining substrate. Water when the substrate is dry, avoiding water stagnation.
It prefers excellent light exposure, especially to maintain its vivid coloration.
In winter, due to low light, the Aeonium may temporarily turn green, then regain its vivid black in spring.
