La pianta mosaico: la Fittonia

The mosaic plant: Fittonia

Fittonia is a small plant that belongs to the Acanthaceae family and is native to the rainforests of South America.

It is also known as "nerve plant" or "mosaic plant," thanks to its extraordinary foliage. Its leaves are adorned with well-defined veins, creating a striking contrast with the deep green base. They indeed boast extremely vibrant colors.

Some of the most colorful varieties

Do you love them all? Don't give up on any color!

To be honest, it's not easy to choose just one color. If you, like us, can't decide and want them all, then you'll love the Fittonia Mystery Box: an opportunity to get 5 varieties of Fittonias. I designed this box to get 5 varieties of Fittonias.

Fittonia and humidity

It is a true humidity lover: the substrate must be well-draining to prevent water stagnation, but it should always be kept moist (never soggy). It is, in fact, a plant that requires frequent watering: it is important to constantly monitor the substrate, avoiding abrupt drying.

A dramatic little plant

When it's thirsty and has been dry for a bit too long, it completely wilts, taking on a withered appearance. This is a clear sign that it needs water. After watering, it quickly (within a few hours) regains its lush shape, standing tall again. In other words: it's a bit dramatic.

So, if your Fittonia appears in this state, don't despair, it is absolutely alive and well!
